Ray Sanino - Owner / Operator
Ray brings over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry to
the North Texas Flight Academy. After earning his pilot license in
1980, he entered military flight training in the United States Air
Force. He gained international flight experience as a C-141 aircraft
commander and instructor pilot. He is a graduate of the University of
Southern California's Safety & Mishap Investigation School and has
been an active member and manager of numerous flight schools and flying
clubs. Ray currently is a corporate pilot and instructor in the Lear 60
and Challenger 300 & 604. He lives in Denton with his wife Anita,
who is the Associate Dean's Administrative Assistant for the College of
Nursing at Texas Woman's University in Denton TX. Ray and
Anita have high hopes, the energy, and experience to make participation
at the North Texas Flight Academy (NTFA) a rewarding experience for
all.

John McClanahan -Flight Instructor
John has over 3000 hours of flying experience, with
more than 2000 hours of instruction given. He holds the following
certificates: Air Transport Pilot, CFI, CFII, CFI-ME, Gold Seal Flight
Instructor, and Advanced Ground Instructor. In his own words, John
"loves to fly and teach people about aviation!".

Cathy Smith - Director of Operations
Cathy, as our new DO, brings a new order to our office with her
skills as an ex CFO in the oil and gas industry, and as Treasurer for
the Denton County Democratic Party. She is currently working
on her Private Pilot Certificate while with us. Her Dad was an
Air Force pilot, her brother an MEII, so she is carrying on the "family
tradition". Cathy lives in Denton with her "boys", Oliver and
Brulee, and enjoys flying, painting and traveling during her free time.

Shawn Horvath - Director of Maintenance
Airframe and powerplant mechanic for 17 years,
specializing in maintenance, inspection and repair of light singles and
twin engine aircraft. We offer routing maintenance, 100 hr and
annual inspections, prepurchase evaluations and owner assisted annuals.
